| White Water to Blue Water Partnership Conference DVC, March 24, 2004Mexican Middle School students (shown here) discussed the Caribbean ecosystem with their peers in Miami Springs Middle School and Trinidad & Tobago via a digital video conference sponsored by the U.S. Department of State on Wednesday, March 24. The students in the three countries compared and contrasted the measurements they had taken of their local environment as part of the GLOBE program, a hands-on, school-based science and education program.
The video conference was held as part of the week-long White Water to Blue Water Partnership Conference, a U.S. Government-sponsored gathering of nearly 700 participants from the wider Caribbean region with the objective of increasing cooperation to protect the Caribbean's marine and coastal ecosystems.
